Si Pékin et New Delhi cherchent aujourd'hui à étendre leur influence à travers le champ stratégique birman, il semble que cela soit bien plus pour des raisons propres aux deux géants que le fruit d'une volonté de contrecarrer systématiquement les ambitions de l'autre, et d'y faire échec au "rival". La Birmanie, loin des axiomes peignant le pays comme un simple terrain de jeux stratégiques entre Indiens et Chinois, offre nombre de résistances à la poussée de ses deux grands voisins.

Playing a crucial role in the global economy, the maritime economy, which includes maritime transport, fishing, the extraction of underwater resources, the leisure and tourism sectors and, increasingly, marine renewable energies, is particularly exposed to the deterioration of international relations when it is expressed primarily in common spaces. As such, it seems inexorably destined to (re)become an essential issue for the navies in charge of securing maritime activities.
