Cyril Musila was an Associate Fellow for the Sub-Saharan Africa starting from June 2010. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris), and is a teacher in African Conflict Geopolitics and Peace Research at the et Université Catholique de Paris.
Holder of a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris), Professor of Geopolitics of African Conflicts and Peace Research at the Catholic University of Paris. Expert to the African Union Border Programme. Former Program Coordinator at the OECD and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). Cyril was Technical Co-ordinator of the Central Africa Initiative, an OECD programme on regional co-operation and post-conflict reconstruction in Central Africa and the Great Lakes. He was a technical advisor in charge of cross-border cooperation projects of the Regional Economic Communities within UNECA. Author of several initiatives and research for peace, security and development in the Great Lakes region.
His expertise extends to themes related to conflict and security in the Great Lakes region, in Central and East Africa, post-conflict reconstruction and peace, regional economic cooperation and cross-border dynamics (trade, demographic, etc.), regional integration infrastructure (energy, transport) and natural resource management (minerals, etc.). water, forests, hydrocarbons) for sustainable development. Languages: French, English, Lingala, Kikongo and Swahili.
