Abstract
In 2003, Russia joined the Bologna process, which aims to create common European higher education space. This process, although not in the strict European Union framework, is an interface with Russia in educational matters, but also illustrates the contradictions of the relations between Europe and Russia. In this field as in others, Russia is torn between the awareness of sharing a common future with Europe and the attachment of its political elite to the theme of "national specificity."

Tatiana Kastouéva-Jean holds a degree from the Ecole normale supérieure of Ekaterinbourg, a Franco-Russian Masters in International Relations from the University of Sciences Po/MGIMO in Moscow, and a DEA in International Relations from the University of Marne-la-Vallée (France). She is currently writing a doctoral thesis on Franco-Russian relations, under the supervision of Anne de Tinguy (Sciences Po/CERI Paris). Her research areas are technology and innovation in Russia.
