The Strategic Observatory on Northeast Asia, established in partnership with Delegation to the Strategic Affairs of the Ministry of Defense, aims to conduct regular monitoring of the strategic area. The Observatoey takes the form of Analysis notes, quarterly review meetings and an annual international conference.


In January 2009, the first review meeting took the form of a small seminar around a Korean speaker on the issue of North Korean crisis. (invitation only)

Conference - 2008-2009
The annual conference took place in June 2009 in Brussels.
It brough together experts and officials on the theme of "Dialogue Euro-Asian regional stability - the North Korean issue"
The seminar aimed to discuss the evolution and future of six-party talks in a changing regional context.
