The Sub-Saharan Africa program’s role is to put forward an updated vision of Africa and to make it accessible. It does so by valuing works from the French and International academic world. Our research will be policy oriented with the aim of informing the decision-makers. It will allow the emergence of better informed and more effective policies towards Africa, reconciling moral commitment and strategic interests.

Program organisation

The governance structure of the Ifri Sub-Saharan Africa program ensures the quality and relevance of the program team work.

The Steering Committee is composed of representatives of the program partners, one representative of Ifri's management, one representative of the CIAN, one renowned africanist researcher coming from the outside of Ifri, and the program researchers. The steering committee allows the partners to express their views on the program orientation.
